A New Horizon Conference in Helsinki
In the upcoming month of June, Helsinki will play host to an exciting international event known as Future Infinite, a pioneering conference dedicated to exploring the possibilities of tomorrow. Taking place at the renowned Wanha Satama venue, this gathering will bring together visionaries and forward-thinkers from the realms of research, business, and government to shape new horizons for diverse industries. Future Infinite stands out as a unique and unparalleled experience within Europe.
Scheduled for June 12th to 13th, 2014, the Future Infinite – Helsinki International Conference for Solving Global Challenges will coincide with the 16th International Futures Conference of Finland Futures Research Centre. Titled ”Sustainable Futures in a Changing Climate,” this academic segment will span June 11th to 12th, merging with the shared program on a designated day.
The Future Infinite conference aims to engage corporate leaders and decision-makers, fostering an environment for constructive dialogues and collaborative problem-solving. Simultaneously, the Future Infinite Academic segment focuses on academics and futurists, facilitating in-depth discussions and cutting-edge research. Anticipating the participation of around 400 attendees, the event promises a diverse and influential gathering of minds.
Distinguished keynote speakers will grace the stage, offering their insights on the future. Esteemed personalities such as R.K. Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Brian Johnson, futurist at Intel, Professor Sohail Inayatullah from Tamkang University, Anthony Evans, a synthetic biology expert from Glowing Plant (USA), Clive van Heerden, futurist at Electrolux, and Professor Paul Verschure from the Robot Companions for Citizens project, will share their expertise and vision.
”Futures studies open up a world of boundless opportunities. The inaugural Future Infinite Conference serves as a melting pot for these studies, uniting leading figures from research and business to exchange groundbreaking ideas from across the globe,” explains Elina Hiltunen, a prominent futurist and Chairperson of the Programme Team.
The conference program will feature two parallel lecture series, inviting participants to explore and discover innovative business, social, political, environmental, and technological solutions for the future. On Friday, June 13th, the conference will present the Future Pitches section, where partner companies will offer their perspectives on the future. Additionally, the event will showcase outstanding entries from the Everyday Innovations of the Future competition, providing a platform for talented students to present their visions.
Messukeskus, in collaboration with the Finland Futures Research Centre at the University of Turku, is responsible for organizing this remarkable event. Together, they aim to create an inspiring and transformative experience, shaping the trajectory of future studies and fostering meaningful connections among a diverse community of forward-looking individuals. Uusi Horizon-konferenssi Helsingissä
Kesäkuun ensi viikkoina Helsingin Wanha Satama -tapahtumakeskus isännöi Future Infinite -nimistä kansainvälistä tulevaisuuden tutkimuksen konferenssia. Tämä tapahtuma tuo yhteen innovatiivisia ajattelijoita tutkimuksen, liike-elämän ja hallituksen aloilta kehittääkseen uudenlaisia liiketoiminnan muotoja. Tämä ainutlaatuinen konferenssi on Euroopassa ensimmäinen laatuaan.
Future Infinite – Helsinki International Conference for Solving Global Challenges järjestetään 12.–13. kesäkuuta 2014. ”Kestävät tulevaisuudet muuttuvassa ilmastossa” on Suomen Tulevaisuuden tutkimuskeskuksen 16. kansainvälinen tulevaisuuden konferenssi, joka pidetään samassa paikassa 11.–12. kesäkuuta 2014 nimellä Future Infinite Academic. Yksi päivä on yhteinen molemmille tapahtumille.
Future Infinite kohdistuu yritysjohtajille ja päätöksentekijöille, kun taas Future Infinite Academic on suunnattu akateemikoille ja tulevaisuudentutkijoille. Tapahtumaan odotetaan noin 400 osallistujaa.
Maailmankuulut puhujat, kuten R.K. Pachauri, ilmastopaneelin puheenjohtaja, Intelin futuristi Brian Johnson, professori Sohail Inayatullah (Tamkang University), synteettisen biologian asiantuntija Anthony Evans (Glowing Plant, USA), Electroluxin futuristi Clive van Heerden ja professori Paul Verschure Robot Companions for Citizens -projektista, jakavat ajatuksiaan tulevaisuudesta.
”Tulevaisuus on täynnä mahdollisuuksia. Tämä ensimmäinen Future Infinite -konferenssi toimii sulatusuunina tulevaisuuden tutkimukselle, tuoden yhteen tutkimuksen ja liike-elämän huippuosaajat sekä maailman parhaat ideat”, sanoo Elina Hiltunen, futuristi ja ohjelmakomitean puheenjohtaja.
Tapahtumassa on kaksi rinnakkaista luentosarjaa, jotka tarjoavat mahdollisuuden etsiä ja löytää liiketoiminnallisia, sosiaalisia, poliittisia, ympäristöllisiä ja teknologisia ratkaisuja tulevaisuuteen. Perjantaina 13. kesäkuuta konferenssissa järjestetään Future Pitches -osio, jossa yhteistyökumppanit jakavat näkemyksiään tulevaisuudesta. Lisäksi konferenssi esittelee parhaat kilpailutöistä tulevaisuuden jokapäiväisistä innovaatioista, tarjoten opiskelijoille mahdollisuuden esitellä omia luovia ratkaisujaan.
